UEFA Champions League Predictions & Tips: Matchday 6 of 6

The group stage action in four of the eight Champions League groups is about to conclude on Tuesday night. There are several big matchups on Tuesday, with Tottenham looking to get a win against Barcelona. In another of the night’s notable matches, Liverpool needs a big win at Anfield Stadium against the unbeaten Napoli to try and force their way through to the knockout stage.
Here, we cover Champions League tips and predictions for a number of the upcoming matches on Tuesday, October 11th.
Schalke 04 vs Lokomotiv Moscow
Schalke 04 is among the teams locked in for the round of 16, which means they can hold back in this game. They have already secured qualification and can’t get ahead of Porto to take the top spot. As for Moscow, they have to win and hope that Galatasaray loses against Porto to try and win three points from the Turkish side.
The German side is performing well in front of their home crowd, having drawn with Porto and winning all three points against Galatasaray. The Russians, on the other hand, have been underperforming so a simple home win should be expected from Schalke.
Galatasaray vs Porto
The Turkish side is on track for third place in the league. To do that, they need to win to guarantee it. Or, another scenario is if Lokomotiv Moscow fails to beat Schalke 04 then that will be enough for Gala to qualify for the Europa League.
Even though Porto are uninterested in this matchup, it’s difficult to see Galatasaray packing enough firepower to beat them still. However, the draw seems to be a good proposition in this fixture.
Club Brugge vs Atletico Madrid
Club Brugge, despite putting in decent work in the Champions League, can still be pleased that they will be going to the Europa League no matter what the outcome is. Concurrently, Atletico Madrid can secure the top spot for themselves if they get the win in Belgium, or if Dortmund fails to beat Monaco.
Ultimately, Atletico Madrid are reliable enough to get you the win under these circumstances.
Red Star Belgrade vs PSG
Red Star still has a chance to finish third in the group. They will need to overcome the Ligue 1 giants and hope that Liverpool loses. That’s the only outcome that puts the Serbian SuperLiga team in a good spot. But they are about to face a PSG team who are still battling with Liverpool and Napoli to get through the next round. PSG can guarantee progress with a win or if Liverpool fails to beat Napoli.
PSG have to keep their pace up against Red Star, and that is a problem for the Serbian side. The French club is looking good and should easily win the game.
Monaco vs Borussia Dortmund
An underwhelming Monaco continues to struggle in the Champions League. They have finished bottom of the group and are yet to show any of their strong suits this season. They only have one point from league group stage games so far. Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund eye the top spot in the group. If they win and Atletico fail to beat Club Brugge on the final matchday, Dortmund gets top spot thanks to a superior head-to-head goal difference.
Dortmund have been nothing but outstanding this season–both in the Champions League and the Bundesliga–and should be able to beat a side who aren’t at their 100%.
