Target Center

Sitting at the downtown Minneapolis’ huge sports and entertainment district, the Target Center is owned and operated by Marv Wolfenson and Harvey Ratner. It’s the first NBA arena to have a green roof—the largest in Minnesota and the fifth-largest in the United States. The environmental impact of this feature can manage stormwater runoff (about 1 million gallons annually), conserve energy, and reduce the urban heat in the area.
The Target Center is home to the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA and the Minnesota Lynx of the WNBA. In its earlier years, it served the Minnesota Valkyrie of the LFL, the Minnesota Arctic Blast of the RHI, and the Minnesota Fighting Pike of the AFL. Moving away from sports, the arena has been a popular venue for concerts and international events, the most popular being the Winter Wonder Slam Tour and the highest-grossing one-day event of the UFC.
