Spectrum Center

Spectrum Center

The Spectrum Center opened as the Charlotte Bobcats Arena on October 2005 in North Carolina. Its construction was inspired by the main culture of the city of Charlotte, so the arena’s design was dubbed by many as a “celebration of gathering”; it has open walkways, terraces, and exposed staircases leading to all areas of the building to provide connectivity between the fans and the local community of Charlotte.

The Spectrum is owned by the local government of Charlotte but is operated by its main tenant, the Charlotte Hornets of the NBA. There are no other home teams currently residing in the arena after the Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL left, but the Spectrum welcomes college basketball events, national conventions, circus shows, contemporary worship events, and musical concerts.
