Santiago Bernabeu Stadium

The Santiago Bernabeu is one of the world’s most famous football arenas. It is located in the district of Chamartin of Madrid and has a seating capacity of 81,044–making it the second largest in Spain. It is the home stadium of Real Madrid since its completion in 1947 and has been a part of various major tournaments such as the European Cup/UEFA Champions League and the 1982 FIFA World Cup, making it the first stadium in Europe to host both tournaments.
The latest renovation plans for the stadium started in summer 2017. Although the capacity will remain the same, the stadium will expand ten meters in height and a roof will be added to the structure. Furthermore, a change in the stadium’s name is also expected due to the sponsorship agreement. The anticipated completion time for the project is three years and aims to be ready at the beginning of the 2020/21 La Liga season.
