Rhein-Neckar-Arena

Rhein-Neckar-Arena

Also acknowledged as Wirsol Rhein-Neckar-Arena due to sponsorship reasons, the stade is a multi-purpose stadium located in Sinsheim, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. It primarily serves as grounds for football matches and is the home of 1899 Hoffenheim. As opposed to other top stadiums in Germany, the Rhein-Neckar-Arena has a conservative seating capacity of 30,150 fans. However, the arena is the largest in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan area. It replaced TSG 1899 Hoffenheim’s former ground, the Dietmar-Hopp-Stadium. As for the opening, it’s significantly younger than most Bundesliga venues having opened in 2009, and first witnessed a match between FC Energie Cottbus and Hoffenheim.

Besides Bundesliga league matches, the stadium also hosted matches at the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2017 DEL Winter Game.
