FedEx Forum

The FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee was constructed after the Memphis Summer Storm of 2003, a severe derecho event that affected and damaged many parts of southern United States. Due to this, the arena served as the shelter and beacon of hope for the residents. FedEx now functions as a site for basketball events, ice hockey games, concerts, and family shows. Interestingly, it is the only arena with see-through shot clock units and interior design dedicated to Memphis’ musical heritage— with paintings and murals depicting famous artists like Justin Timberlake, Elvis Presley, and B.B King.
The current tenants of the FedEx Forum since 2004 are the Memphis Grizzlies of the NBA and the NCAA Division 1 men’s basketball program of the University of Memphis. Both teams moved in FedEx after they leaving the Pyramid Arena.
