The Estadi Montilivi is a multi-purpose stadium located in Girona, one of the major Catalan cities in Spain that’s popular for tourists and Barcelona-day trippers. The area is actually an autonomous community of Spain, alongside Barcelona, Lleida, and Tarragona.
The stadium’s home team, Girona Futbol Club, has been promoted to the first-division league at the end of La Liga’s 2016-17 season. Succeeding that, on July 2018, Girona has revealed plans to further expand the capacity of their Estadi Montilivi after enjoying a successful football season. The project will see an additional 1,000 seats in the Gol Sur stand, expanding the stadium’s seating capacity from 13,000 to 14,000.
