Barclays Center

Barclays Center

The Barclays Center is located in Brooklyn, New York. It stands as part of a business and residential complex known as the Pacific Park. It’s one of the few NBA venues that promote a site model for sustainable design and construction—something that’s beneficial to the environment. Because of this, it earned the LEED Silver Certification for New Construction from the U.S. Green Building Congress and became the first professional venue in the New York metropolitan area to achieve the status. Succeeding that, it was also recognized with several major awards, including the 2012 Pollstar Award for Best New Major Concert Venue, the 2013 Sports Business Awards Facility of the Year, and the A+ Building of The Year Award by Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.

The arena houses the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA after acting as one of the home arenas for the New York Islanders of the NHL. It competes with the Madison Square Garden and the Prudential Center in hosting sports, concerts, conventions, and entertainment events.
