Bankers Life Fieldhouse

Bankers Life Fieldhouse

The Bankers Life Fieldhouse is another indoor arena that is well-loved by fans and players alike. It is located in Downtown Indianapolis and was opened to the public in November 1999. It is noteworthy that it’s the only NBA arena called as a “fieldhouse”, a term for arenas cross between a gigantic barn and a historical textile factory.

As a fieldhouse existing in modern times, the Bankers Life was primarily designed for indoor events like basketball, ice hockey, wrestling, auto racing, and concerts. Unlike barns and factories in the 1800s, it showcases a retro look that combines modern-day amenities. But primarily, the arena is committed to being a basketball venue with state of the art bells, whistles, and scoreboards.

The first-ever NBA event held at the fieldhouse was between Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics. But aside from the Pacers, it’s also home to the Indiana Fever of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).
