Anoeta

Anoeta

The Anoeta Stadium is part of the Anoeta Sports Complex, it replaced the old stadium of Estadio de Atotxa. It is a multipurpose stadium located in San Sebastián, Basque Autonomous Community. Its ground is mostly used for football matches as it has self-sustaining steel trusses and translucent inner roof. The venue’s seating capacity and hospital areas were extended last 2014 because of some complaints about the wide distance between the spectators and the pitch.

The Real Sociedad of La Liga uses Anoeta as their home stadium. It’s their third venue after leaving Ondarreta and Atocha. Temporarily, the home team’s rival Athletic Bilbao were also permitted to use Anoeta for their first home game of the 2013-14 La Liga season. More than football matches, it has also been used for concerts, Heineken Cup Rugby Union tournaments, and the Biarritz Olympique.
