American Airlines Arena

American Airlines Arena

The American Airlines Arena replaced the Miami Arena as the premier sports and entertainment venue of Downtown Miami in Florida. Most notably, the arena has several luxury features including its 2,105 club seats, 80 luxury suites, and 76 private boxes. But beyond that, it houses the Waterfront Theater, Florida’s largest theater that can seat between 3,000 and 5,800 attendees. The American Airlines Arena can then be configured for sports events, concerts, family events, musical theatre, and other sage shows.

As part of a sponsorship agreement, the arena has a giant aircraft painted atop the roof bearing the American Airlines logo. Ever since the company acquired the naming rights to the arena, it has been a home site to the Miami Heat of the NBA. In popular culture, a matchup many fans nicknamed as the “American Airline Series” saw the arena hosting the 2006 and 2011 NBA Finals that fueled the rivalry between Heat and the Dallas Mavericks.
