Allianz Arena

Allianz Arena

Allianz Arena is located in Munich, Bavaria, Germany with a 75,000 seating capacity. Popular for its exterior of inflated plastic panels, it is the first stadium in the world to introduce a full-color changing facade. The stadium is the second-largest arena in Germany and has served as the venue for FC Bayern Munich’s home games since 2005. The club previously held their home games at the Munich Olympic Stadium prior to moving to the Allianz Arena. Previously, the Bayern Munich shared the stadium with 1860 Munich, until the former purchased their shares in April 2006.

Well-known financial services provider Allianz purchased the naming rights to the stadium for 30 years. However, the name will not stand should the venue be used for FIFA and UEFA events due to policies forbidding corporate sponsorship from companies that are not official tournament partners.
