Commonly referred to as the Wolves, Wolverhampton is one of the founding members of the Football League in 1888. Formerly known as St Lukes F.C., the constituted in 1877 and has played at its home ground, Molineux Stadium, since 1800. The Wolverhampton Wanderers recently won the 2017-18 EFL Championship and will be part of the Premier League in 2018-19 for the first time since 2011-12.

The club’s history consists of three England championships, all during the 1950s under the supervision of Stan Culls, and have been runners-up five times. Wolverhampton also won the FA Cup four times and runners-up four times. They have two Football League Cup titles won in 1974 and 1980.

Wolverhampton Wanderers previously used red and white kits. These were soon overruled by Wolves’ traditional colors of gold shirts and black shorts. In addition, the club changed its crest from the Wolverhampton city coat of arms to one that characterizes wolves.
