Manager: Mark Hughes

Southampton Football Club is based in Southampton, Hampshire, England, and is currently part of the top tier of English football. Nicknamed “The Saints” since their entry into competitive football, the club was once a church football team, founded at St. Mary’s Church of England Young Men’s Association. Southampton is known to play in red shirts with vertical white stripes.
The club moved to St Mary’s Stadium in 2001. Prior to that, Southampton F.C. was based at The Deli. Southampton compasses a rivalry with Portsmouth due to its close proximity with the city and their maritime history. The matches between the two sides are established as the South Coast derby.

The club’s achievements include an FA Cup title won in 1976, and a second-place finish in the First Division in 1983-84. Southampton was demoted to second division on 2005, which ended a 27-season stint in the top division. They returned to the Premier League after spending seven years outside the top flight league, and have played there since.
