Head Coach: Todd Bowles
The New York Jets are located in the New York metropolitan area and compete in the NFL as a member of the American Football Conference (AFC) East division. Founded in 1959, the team was first named the Titans of New York and originally a member of the American Football League. After the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, the franchise later joined the NFL. After a change in ownership in 1963, the name New York Jets was adopted in place of the Titans of New York.
Since 1968, the Jets advanced to the playoffs 13 times, and in the AFC Championship Game four times. Despite that, the Jets have never appeared again in the Super Bowl after advancing to the Super Bowl III in 1968. This makes the Jets one of three teams to win their only Super Bowl appearance, together with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New Orleans Saints.
