Head Coach: Bill Belichick
The New England Patriots are based in the Greater Boston region, and compete in the NFL as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) East division. All home games of the team are hosted at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Originally a part of the AFL, the Patriots took part in the NFL after the 1970 merger. The team renamed from the original Boston patriots after moving to Foxborough in 1971.
The Patriots took part in ten Super Bowl events–the most of any team–and won five (2001, 2003, 2004, 2014, and 2016). Eight of the team’s appearances involved head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady in 2000. The Patriots have since become one of the most successful teams in the league, claiming 15 AFC East titles in 17 seasons. Other achievements of the Patriots include the most wins in a ten-year period, an undefeated 16-game regular season in 2007, the longest winning streak in both regular season and playoffs, and the most consecutive division titles won by an NFL team.
