Head Coach: Sean McDermott
The Buffalo Bills are part of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) East division and is situated in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls metropolitan area. The Bills is the sole NFL team that plays home games in the state of New York at the New Era Field.
Originally, the Buffalo Bills started play as a franchise of the American Football League (AFL) in the 60s. The club then joined the NFL after the AFL-NFL merger for the 1970 season. The 1964 and 1965 Bills were the only teams to represent Buffalo and also win major league professional sports championships. In addition, the Bills are the only team to claim four consecutive conference championships and are the only NFL team to lose four consecutive Super Bowl matches.
The Bills formerly held the record for the longest active playoff drought in all four major professional sports in North America: they failed to qualify in the NFL playoffs from 1999 until 2017 and were the last NFL team to take part in the playoffs in the 21st century.
