Head Coach: Dan Quinn
The Atlanta Falcons is an NFL team based in Atlanta, Georgia, and competes in the NFL as part of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) South division. After joining the NFL in 1965 as an expansion team, the NFL offered then-owner Rankin Smith a franchise to prevent him from moving to the rival American Football League.
In their 51 years in the NFL, the Falcons have achieved a 350-450-6 record, including 341-437-6 in the regular season and 9-13 in the playoffs, and division championships in the following years: 1980, 1998, 2004, 2010, 2012, and 2012. The Falcons have also appeared in the Super Bowl events, the first in Super Bowl XXXIII, and the second was in Super Bowl LI. The Falcons suffered a defeat in both matches.
The team hosts their home matches in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which opened for the 2017 season.
