Head Coach: Scott Brooks
The Washington Wizards are a team based in Washington, D.C., and compete in the NBA as part of the league’s Eastern Conference Southeast Division. All home matches of the team are held at the Capital One Arena, located in the CHinatown neighborhood of Washington D.C.
The team was founded as the Chicago Packers in 1961, and was first based in Chicago, Illinois. After their first season, the team changed its name to Chicago Zephyrs. In 1963, they moved to Baltimore, Maryland and became the Baltimore Bullets, picking up the name from a previous team of the same name. In 1973, the team renamed to the Capital Bullets following their move to the Washington metropolitan area, and then to Washington Bullets the following season. In 1997, the team rebranded themselves as the Washington Wizards.
As far as achievements go, the Wizards have appeared in four NBA finals, and claimed their first and only championship title in 1978. The franchise also record four conference titles and seven division titles.
