The Oklahoma City Thunder, based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, competes in the NBA as part of the league’s Western Conference Northwest Division. Originally known as the Seattle SuperSonics, the franchise moved and renamed in 2008 after an agreement between Clay Bennett and lawmakers in Seattle, Washington.

During the team’s time in Seattle, the SuperSonics attended the NBA playoffs 22 times, won the division 6 times, and won the 1979 NBA Championship. Meanwhile, after its time as the SuperSonics, the Thunder first saw the light of the NBA playoffs during the 2009/10 season. The team then headed to win their first division title under the new franchise name in 2010/11 season and attended their first Western Conference championship in the 2011/12 season. In total, the franchise has achieved 1 NBA Championship title, 4 conference titles, and 11 division titles.
