The Indiana Pacers is a team based in Indianapolis, Indiana, and is part of the NBA’s Eastern Conference Central Division. First introduced in 1967 as a member of the American Basketball Association (ABA) after a group of investors gathered their resources to buy a franchise in the proposed league. After spending almost a decade in the ABA, the Pacers entered the NBA in 1976 after the ABA-NBA merger was completed. The team’s name pays tribute to Indiana’s history with the Indianapolis 500’s pace cars. All home games of the pacers are held at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, located in Downtown Indianapolis.

The Pacers have achieved three championship titles, all won in the ABA. Meanwhile, the Pacers also claimed the Eastern Conference title in 2000 along with nine division titles (1995, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2013, 2014). Some of the most distinguished players to wear the Pacers badge includes Reggie Miller, Roger Brown, George McGinnis, Chris Mullin, and Alex English.
