Valencia Club de Fútbol, also known as Valencia CF, is surrounded by distinguished achievements throughout its time. The club was founded in 1919 and have been rivals with other Valencia club Villareal, with whom they play the Derbi de la Comunitat against. The rivalry is further heated due to the fact that the two clubs are the most successful in the region.
The Valencia-based football club has won six La Liga titles, seven Copa del Rey titles, a pair of Inter-Cities Fairs Cups (the forerunner of the UEFA Cup), one UEFA Cup, one UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup and two UEFA Super Cups. They have reached the UEFA Champions League finals twice in a row. In total, the club has reached seven major European finals, claiming four victories.
Valencia is the third most supported football club in the domestic league, right behind Barcelona and Real Madrid. Over the years, Valencia has achieved a reputation for their effective youth academy, producing talents such as Davis Silva, Jordi Alba, Isco, and Raúl Albiol.
