Head Coach: Michel

Rayo Vallecano de Madrid, or Rayo, is a club based in Madrid. Rayo was established on May 1924 and was recently promoted to the La Liga for the 2018/19 season. The club was founded in the hometown of Prudencia Priego, wife of the club’s first president Julian Huerta.

The club was also a majority shareholder of Oklahoma City FC after striking a deal in August 2015. This was the first ever entry of a Spanish club into the American sports market. However, the plans folded after a year due to Rayo Vallecano’s relegation from the top-flight and a dispute between co-owners of the club.

The 1980s to the 2000s saw Rayo Vallecano bounce back and forth the La Liga and the second division. One of its distinguished achievements include competing in one European competition, the UEFA Cup in the 2000/01 season where the club reached the quarterfinals before losing to fellow Spanish club Alavés 4-1 on aggregate.
