Borussia Mönchengladbach, or Gladbach, is a German football club based in Mönchengladbach, North Rhine-Westphalia. Borussia is a Latinized form of Prussia, a well-recognized term for German clubs in the former Kingdom of Prussia.
Established in 1900, Gladbach plays in the top tier of the German football league system. The club made its first appearance in the Bundesliga during the 1965/66 season. Following that, the club drew the attention of fans of the sport, making it Germany’s best-known and one of the most successful teams. Their main rivals are 1. FC Koln and the club plays their home games are Borussia-Park, having previously moved from Bökelbergstadion. Right beside Gladbach’s name are five Bundesliga titles, two UEFA Cup titles in 1976 and 1979 and a reaching a European Cup final in 1977.
The club currently has white and green kits as their home colors and an alternate kit that sports black kits with green accents.
