Head Coach: Niko Kovac
FC Bayern Munich, FCB, Bayern Munich, or FC Bayern, is a Munich-based sports club, stationed in Bavaria. The club is best known for its professional football team, which plays in the top tier of the German football league system, the Bundesliga. Bayern Munich is the most successful club in German football history, carrying a record 28 national titles and 18 national cups.
The club was founded in 1900 by 11 football players, driven by Franz John. Although the club claimed its first national championship in 1932, the club was not part of the Bundesliga when the league was first introduced. Bayern Munich experienced great success in the 1970s and won the European Cup three times in a row. Ultimately, the team appeared in European Cup/UEFA Champions League and two Intercontinental Cups, making it among the elite European clubs and the only club to win both international titles.
Bayern has called Allianz Arena home since the beginning of the 2005/06 Bundesliga campaign. The team previously played its home matches at Munich’s Olympiastadion for 33 years. FCB currently sports red and white team colors.
